Mezzanine Decking FAQs

Mezzanine decking is the floor of your mezzanine-that is, the surface you will walk on and place materials, furniture and equipment on. Mezzanine decks come in a variety of materials, including metal grating, wood, epoxy and vinyl board. The choice of the type of decking will depend on the intended use of the mezzanine and the specific requirements of the environment, such as weight loads, temperature and humidity, foot traffic, etc.
Mezzanines are used in a variety of ways across the retail, comercial and manufacturing industries. Some common uses for mezzanines include: In a retail environment, it is often preferable to have a solid floor for your mezzanine, so customers don't drop small objects through the floor and feel more confident walking across it. Resin board flooring is a great option for many retail applications.
Many of our industrial customers love our metal grate floors. Steel grating is strong enough to support heavy-duty industrial materials and equipment, while remaining relatively lightweight {compared to solid metal flooring or concrete} and easy to install. It is also naturally non-slip. Metal grating also allows airflow and visibility between floors, which is often desirable in a factory environment.
